About us

It all started on the 1 year anniversary of Shadie’s death, when some of his friends in The Gambia came up with the idea of hosting a charity football match at the training ground at The Gambia National Stadium. Kits were made especially for this game with Shadie’s nickname “Shadinho” printed across the chest. These were sold to all of the players and supporters, and the money raised from this event initiated the charity work that Shadie’s mother, Helle, has continued to this day along with the help and support of the rest of his family and many friends.

It was immediately obvious that it would be most fitting to spend this money on the children in The Gambia, the country Shadie lived in and loved. Initially, Helle arranged to sponsor 3 students who needed help funding their A-level studies and after that the idea of bringing football equipment to the rural school children of The Gambia was born.

Using the generous donations that we continue to receive, Helle (often accompanied by various other family members and friends) purchases a large number of footballs and football kits, ships them to Gambia, and personally ventures out on numerous trips to the far reaches of the country to distribute these to rural schools.
